Elimination Communication (EC)
What is EC?
Elimination Communication, or EC, is based on the idea that babies are born with the instinct not to soil themselves. Have you ever noticed that a newborn baby seems to urinate as soon as his or her diaper is removed? There is a reason for that! By communicating with your baby about his or her need to eliminate, you can help your baby retain his or her natural body awareness, preventing the process of training them to go in a diaper, then retraining them, often several years later, to go in the toilet instead.
The following resources should be very helpful if you are interested in learning more. Some members here have practiced EC or a modified version of it with their children, so feel free to post on the main wall for discussion on this.
